Spend an evening at the Denver Botanic Gardens photographing this season’s Chihuly art glass exhibit in the beautiful “magic hours” photographers seek. Bring your tripod and capture the sculptures as the light changes throughout the evening from sunset through dusk. The class will end approximately 45 minutes after sunset.

Explore the intricacies of photographing art glass under natural light conditions at the Chihuly exhibit. With the added challenge of being simultaneously reflective and translucent, glass can pose unique creative difficulties for the photographer. We’ll use a variety of photographic tools and techniques to create interesting images of glass sculpture in a garden setting with an eye toward capturing deep saturated colors and interesting compositions.

Spend a beautiful morning at the Denver Botanic Gardens photographing the Chihuly exhibit in the dramatic “magic hours” of dawn. This is a special opportunity to enter the Gardens before it opens in the morning to photograph the plants, flowers and artwork under brilliant morning light. Bring your tripod and capture the sculptures as the light changes throughout the morning from before sunrise through the first hour of the day’s light. The class will end approximately one hour after sunrise.
