Golden Full Circle: Photographs by Scott Dressel-Martin
Artist’s Reception, June 1, 2012, 5pm-7pm
All around the world people hold a picture of Golden, Colorado, in their mind’s eye. To some it’s a brewery or a cold mountain stream, to others it’s the big “Howdy” arch across the street, and to still others it’s a Wild West town of myth and legend.
Golden is more than the sum of its parts, but each part plays a vital role. In this photographic exhibit Scott explores the grand vistas and the vignettes that make Golden a unique city with an historic past. Beginning with 360-degree panoramic images of Golden from the East and West, Scott worked his way from the majestic to the intimate. In these grand views we see the context of Golden and visually establish the timeless nature of the landscape that defines the community. The intimate views and the obscure details will look at Golden from a micro level that explores the molecular building blocks of the city.
